    Engineering program FAQs

    What services does 3Dresyns offer?

3Dresyns provides structured engineering programs supporting material development, process optimization, validation and industrial implementation. Services are organized into four areas: Additive Manufacturing Engineering, Material Development, Validation & Characterization, and Technology Transfer.

How do I choose between the different programs?

Select Additive Manufacturing Engineering when the challenge is process-related, such as printing instability, poor reproducibility, workflow limitations or scale-up constraints. Select Material Development when existing materials do not meet performance, process or implementation requirements. Select Validation & Characterization when you need structured benchmarking, controlled performance screening or technical evaluation before implementation. Select Technology Transfer for synthesis and formulation know-how transfer beyond additive manufacturing.

What is included in Additive Manufacturing Engineering?

This program focuses on materials, processes and manufacturing workflows for additive manufacturing. Typical challenges include material–process mismatch, unstable or non-reproducible printing, scale-up from R&D to production, process optimization, printer compatibility, post-processing integration, and selection between direct and indirect manufacturing routes.

Is Additive Manufacturing Engineering limited to 3Dresyns materials?

No. Engineering programs can be engaged independently of material supply and may also apply to commercially available resins and other material systems. Scope may include material selection, printer compatibility, parameter optimization, post-processing strategies and workflow integration.

What outcomes can I expect from an engineering program?

Typical outcomes include improved print quality and resolution, increased process stability and repeatability, reduced failure rates and material waste, faster parameter setup, clearer understanding of process limits and capabilities, and more reliable transition from development to implementation.

    What is Material Development?

Material Development focuses on the design and adaptation of photopolymer systems for additive manufacturing when standard materials do not meet application, process, regulatory or implementation requirements.

    What can Material Development involve?

Development may include tuning mechanical, thermal or chemical properties; adjusting viscosity, reactivity and curing behavior; optimizing for specific printers or light sources; versioning material systems for defined process windows; and adapting materials to post-processing or sterilization workflows.

Does Material Development cover non-AM formulations?

No. Material Development is focused on additive manufacturing material systems and does not include generic chemical formulation outside this scope.

Will 3Dresyns transfer proprietary 3D resin formulations?

No. Custom material development delivers ready-to-use material systems without transferring proprietary formulations, unless a separate technology transfer framework has been explicitly defined.

    What is Validation & Characterization?

Validation & Characterization supports structured technical evaluation of materials and workflows before implementation, transfer or scale-up. It is intended for customers who need comparative benchmarking, controlled performance screening, engineering evidence or interpretation of results under defined test logic.

Is Validation & Characterization a standalone laboratory service?

No. Validation & Characterization is not presented as a generic standalone laboratory service. It is intended to support broader engineering workflows in which results must be interpreted in relation to formulation, process and application requirements.

What is Technology Transfer at 3Dresyns?

Technology Transfer addresses the transfer of synthesis and formulation know-how beyond additive manufacturing. It focuses on transferable materials technology, including two-dimensional material systems such as coatings, inks, adhesives and related functional chemistries, as well as broader formulation and synthesis logic where agreed in scope.

What deliverables are typical in Technology Transfer projects?

Depending on scope, projects may include synthesis route development, formulation optimization, structured technical documentation, scale-up and industrial implementation support, and controlled knowledge transfer under appropriate confidentiality frameworks.

How do I initiate a project?

All programs are project-based and scope-defined. Contact the technical team and, when possible, include your application, materials, printing technology, performance targets, regulatory considerations, workflow constraints and expected production volumes.

    Do you offer confidentiality?

Yes. Projects are managed under appropriate confidentiality frameworks depending on scope and requirements. NDAs can be established at project initiation.

Can projects include direct vs indirect manufacturing strategies?

Yes. Engineering programs include support for direct and indirect manufacturing routes, including mold-based workflows, powder-based systems and binder-based systems where relevant.

Are services limited to specific technologies?

No. 3Dresyns supports multiple additive manufacturing technologies, including vat photopolymerization, inkjet-based processes, powder and binder-based processes, emerging additive manufacturing routes and indirect manufacturing workflows.

    How are timelines handled?

Standard product orders are typically manufactured within 1–2 working days and shipped via DHL Express, typically within 3–5 working days worldwide depending on destination. Engineering programs follow project-specific timelines defined during scope alignment and depend on the technical complexity of the engagement.

    Can programs be combined?

Yes. Additive Manufacturing Engineering, Material Development, Validation & Characterization and Technology Transfer can be engaged independently or combined depending on project scope and objectives.

    How do I contact 3Dresyns?

Please contact the technical team by email at info@3dresyns.com to discuss your project and define the most appropriate engagement pathway.
