About our Expiration dates
Expiration dates, storage, handling, and intended use
Photopolymer resins are chemically active systems whose properties may evolve over time as a function of storage conditions and natural chemical aging. For this reason, all 3Dresyns® products are supplied with defined expiration dates based on formulation stability and validated storage conditions.
Made-to-order manufacturing and nominal expiration date
Most 3Dresyns products are manufactured strictly on a made-to-order basis and are supplied fresh. The manufacturing date typically coincides with the invoice or order date, or follows shortly afterwards. For most standard grades, the nominal expiration date is 12 months and typically follows the rule:
Expiration date = invoice or order date + 12 months
The expiration date is indicated on the label of each supplied container.
Meaning of the expiration date
The expiration date defines the validated time window during which the resin is expected to perform within its qualified formulation and processing envelope, provided it is stored, handled, and used according to recommendations. Beyond this period, printability, curing behavior, and final part properties may no longer be reliable.
Time and storage as system variables
Time is considered an integral variable of the overall material system, alongside formulation, printer technology, processing parameters, and post-curing workflow. Using materials beyond their expiration date, or storing them under non-recommended conditions, introduces variability outside the qualified system envelope.
Storage recommendations
When stored correctly, the effective shelf life of many products can extend beyond the stated expiration date, often exceeding 2–3 years, depending on formulation and storage history. Recommended storage conditions include keeping products:
- Protected from light
- Protected from moisture
- Protected from heat
- At temperatures preferably below 25–30 °C
Specialty products (temperature-sensitive)
Some specialty materials, including but not limited to conductive resins, ultra-fast resins, and certain functional additives, may present shorter shelf-life and higher sensitivity to elevated temperatures (typically above 20–30 °C). For these products, refrigerated storage between 5 °C and 20 °C is strongly recommended to reduce the risk of premature polymerisation, degradation, or loss of performance.
Conductive resins: shorter expiration periods
Certain conductive resins (excluding additives) may have shorter expiration periods, typically 3 to 6 months from the order date, depending on formulation and intended application. Always follow the specific product label and IFU guidance.
Intended use and responsibility
All 3Dresyns products are supplied for professional, industrial, research, and development use only. The Recipient is solely responsible for verifying product suitability, performance, storage conditions, handling procedures, and regulatory compliance for the intended application. Improper storage, handling, processing, or use outside recommended conditions may reduce shelf life, alter performance, or cause premature failure. The Company shall not be responsible or liable for consequences arising from improper storage, handling, or use.
Governing principle
Expiration dates define the validated time window for reliable system performance. Time and storage conditions are integral variables of photopolymer material behavior.
