Consulting Scope
3Dresyns® Structured Additive Manufacturing Consulting is grounded in materials science, formulation engineering, process engineering and practical manufacturing constraints.
Depending on the agreed project, consulting may support companies, research organizations and technology developers working with polymers, ceramics, metals, photopolymers, powders, binders and advanced material systems.
The purpose is to identify relevant technical variables, structure development decisions, evaluate process limitations and support implementation within the agreed scope.
How Structured AM Consulting Differs from Other Services
Consulting is not automatically development
Structured AM Consulting may identify that a material needs modification or that a new custom material should be developed.
However, formulation development, synthesis, manufacture of a custom resin or creation of a proprietary new material is not automatically included in a consulting engagement.
Where custom material development is required, the work may proceed separately through Resin Customization.
Consulting is not automatically System Architecture
Structured AM Consulting may assess multiple elements of a manufacturing workflow, but it does not automatically constitute the complete material-process-hardware architecture offered through Professional 3D Printing Architecture.
Where the customer requires definition or restructuring of the complete photopolymer system architecture, a System Architecture program may be more appropriate.
Consulting is not routine Product support
Routine clarification of Product documentation or basic Product guidance may fall within standard Product support.
Substantial technical analysis, structured troubleshooting, route selection, process engineering, scale-up assessment or customer-specific engineering work may require paid consulting.

How We Work
Scope-Defined Technical Engagements
Each engagement is structured according to the technical problem and agreed project scope.
- Defined scope: the customer provides application context, constraints, available data and priorities, and the consulting scope and expected deliverables are established.
- Technical assessment: 3Dresyns® reviews the information relevant to the agreed technical questions.
- Structured recommendations: recommendations, technical interpretations or implementation guidance are provided according to scope.
- Clarification: clarification rounds, where included, are limited to the agreed engagement structure.
- Closure: the engagement closes when the contracted scope, sessions or deliverables have been completed.
Additional questions, new technical objectives or work materially outside the agreed scope may require an additional engagement or revised quotation.
Delivery Methods
Written, remote and customer-site support
Written technical communication is generally preferred because it provides technical accuracy, traceability and a clear record of recommendations.
Depending on the agreed scope, consulting may also include:
- written technical reports;
- email-based technical exchanges;
- review of customer-supplied data;
- remote meetings or videoconferences;
- review of photographs, measurements or experimental results;
- structured parameter or workflow recommendations;
- training where expressly included; and
- technical support at the customer's facilities where expressly contracted.
Customer-site support means that 3Dresyns® personnel may attend the customer's facilities where agreed. It does not create any reciprocal right for the customer to access 3Dresyns® facilities.

Selecting and implementing suitable materials
Consulting may support:
- selection of materials for specific additive manufacturing technologies;
- assessment of material-process compatibility;
- matching materials with printers, light sources, thermal profiles or powder systems;
- balancing printability, mechanical performance and downstream-processing requirements;
- evaluation of material limitations; and
- identification of cases where custom material development may be required.
Development or manufacture of a new custom resin, binder or feedstock is not automatically included in Structured AM Consulting.
Process Design and Optimization

Depending on scope, consulting may assess or support:

- exposure and curing strategy;
- cleaning and post-processing;
- post-curing;
- debinding and sintering strategies;

Unless a specific measurable result has been expressly accepted as a contractual deliverable, Structured AM Consulting constitutes professional technical assistance and does not guarantee a particular technical, commercial or regulatory outcome.
Regulated Applications
Technical Support versus Regulatory Responsibility
Structured AM Consulting may support projects involving biomedical, dental, food-contact, pharmaceutical-related or other regulated applications where relevant to the agreed technical scope.
Such consulting does not by itself constitute certification, regulatory approval, medical-device classification, conformity assessment or validation of the customer's final Product or manufacturing process.
The customer remains responsible for determining and satisfying the regulatory requirements applicable to its final Product and intended use.
Intellectual Property
Consulting Does Not Transfer Proprietary Technology
Structured AM Consulting does not automatically transfer ownership of 3Dresyns® formulations, material architectures, manufacturing know-how, proprietary workflows, internal methodologies, software, trade secrets or other Background Intellectual Property.
Recommendations concerning use of a 3Dresyns® Product do not transfer the underlying formulation or proprietary technology.
The customer's pre-existing information, designs, data and intellectual property remain subject to the customer's applicable rights.
3Dresyns® does not acquire ownership of an independent customer invention merely because consulting services are provided.
Confidentiality
Controlled Information Exchange
Projects involving non-public technical information may be subject to the applicable NDA or confidentiality framework.
3Dresyns® does not disclose confidential formulations, proprietary material architecture, customer-confidential information or other trade secrets as part of standard consulting.
Customers should not provide confidential information belonging to third parties unless they have the right to disclose it for the project.
No Customer Access to 3Dresyns® Facilities
Consulting Does Not Create Facility-Access Rights
Purchase or engagement of Structured Additive Manufacturing Consulting does not grant customers, consultants, private auditors, notified bodies acting for customers or other private third parties any right to access, inspect or audit 3Dresyns® facilities, laboratories, manufacturing areas, internal systems, development tools or confidential operations.
Where physical technical assistance is required and expressly contracted, 3Dresyns® personnel may provide support at the customer's facilities.
