Technical Bulletin - 3Dresyn LDPE-like 3D Resin
Very low-modulus engineering photopolymer with LDPE-like mechanical behaviour for additive manufacturing requiring soft deformation, high compliance and minimal structural rigidity.
Overview
3Dresyn® LDPE-like is a very low-modulus engineering photopolymer designed to provide a low-density-polyethylene-like functional response in additive manufacturing. It is intended for soft technical parts requiring high compliance, low rigidity and large deformation tolerance.
Its role in the thermoplastic-like collection is to provide the softest polyolefin-like engineering window for parts that should not behave like rigid structures.

This profile reflects a material intended for soft technical behaviour and very low structural rigidity.
What makes 3Dresyn LDPE-like different
1) Softest engineering response in the thermoplastic-like family
LDPE-like is positioned for very soft and highly compliant parts where rigid engineering behaviour would be counterproductive.
2) High deformation tolerance
The material is relevant for low-load technical interfaces and parts that must deform substantially under use.
3) Useful soft polyolefin-like behaviour
It occupies a distinct place versus HDPE-like, PP-like and TPU-like by prioritizing low rigidity over structural response.
Application Guidance
- Very soft technical parts
- Compliant low-rigidity interfaces
- Flexible covers and deformation-intensive geometries
Processing Notes
- Printing technologies: SLA, DLP and LCD
- Wavelength range: 385–405 nm
- Compatible with open-parameter systems
- Requires careful cure control to preserve target softness
Normalization and engineering caveats
- LDPE-like positioning reflects engineering behaviour analogy, not direct equivalence to molded LDPE.
- Actual softness depends strongly on geometry and cure state.
Conclusion
3Dresyn LDPE-like is positioned as a very low-modulus engineering photopolymer for additive manufacturing where softness, compliance and high deformation tolerance matter more than structural stiffness or dimensional stability.
