3Dresyn LMM Perfect Cast PC1, castable solid photopolymer for printing heat meltable castings for Jewelry by Lithography-based Metal Manufacturing LMM
Product description
3Dresyn® LMM Perfect Cast PC1 is a heat-soluble / meltable, flowable and castable solid photopolymer developed for printing high-resolution castable patterns for jewelry using Lithography-based Metal Manufacturing (LMM).
Application framework
Designed for use in LMM systems within controlled professional environments. Suitable for the fabrication of high-detail castable patterns requiring clean burnout, zero ash residue and complete material elimination for precision investment casting workflows.
Typical applications
- Jewelry casting patterns
- Filigree and ultra-fine detailed structures
- Investment casting for precious metals
- Complex geometries requiring full burnout
- High-precision decorative and technical castings
Measured mechanical properties
- Melting point before printing: 32 °C (internal method)
- Melting point after printing and post-curing: 47 °C (internal method)
- Tensile and flexural strength: <5 MPa (ISO 527 / ISO 178)
- Young’s modulus: <800 MPa (ISO 527)
- Elongation: <2% (ISO 527)
- Very low viscosity: <100 cps at 35 °C (Brookfield)
- No shrinkage during printing (internal method)
Functional performance characteristics
- Photoreactive spreadable butter-like paste for LMM printing
- Melts at 32 °C before printing and flows like molten wax after printing
- 100% removal from the investment mold by gravity in upside-down position
- 0% residual ash content after burn-out
- Non-rubbery behavior during heating (unlike conventional resins)
- Excellent burnout even with low-cost gypsum investments
- No expansion during burn-out
- Reduced brittleness compared to standard wax-like materials
- Very high resolution suitable for filigree geometries
- Bio-based from renewable resources (>70% bio content)
- Safe formulation without toxic pictograms
- Organo-tin free
Processing and handling performance
- Supplied in cyan, magenta, yellow, black and white colors
- Printable with LMM printers
- Typical exposure times:
- 20–25 seconds for 50 µm layers with low power <1 mW/cm² LMM printers
- 10–15 seconds for 50 µm layers with medium power 1–2 mW/cm² LMM printers
- <10 seconds for 50 µm layers with high power 5–15 mW/cm² LMM printers
Instructions for use (IFU) for LMM printers
Cleaning
- Prints can be decaked by melting at 35 °C the uncured resin
- Rinse parts thoroughly under warmed water at 33–34 °C and allow to dry completely
Post-curing
- Post-curing for 30–60 minutes in a light box increases curing and raises melting point up to 47 °C
Investment casting
- Material melts completely above 47 °C allowing full gravity removal
- Compatible with gypsum and phosphate investments
- Enables clean burnout without defects
Testing & processing disclaimer
Material performance depends on printer type, exposure conditions, geometry, investment material and burn-out cycle. Full validation is required for each specific casting workflow.
