3Dresyn Perfect Cast HS2 MF Bio, Heat Soluble, Meltable, Flowable & Castable photopolymer bio based liquid 3D resin
Product description
3Dresyn® Perfect Cast HS2 MF Bio is a heat-soluble, meltable, flowable and castable bio-based and monomer-free liquid photopolymer developed for direct investment casting workflows using heated top-down and bottom-up SLA, DLP and LCD printers.
The material behaves as a viscous liquid before printing and transforms into a flexible thermoplastic solid after curing, capable of melting or thermally degrading during burnout to enable clean elimination and defect-free casting.
Application framework
Designed for use in heated vat photopolymerization systems (top-down and bottom-up SLA, DLP and LCD). Requires controlled temperature conditions during printing to ensure optimal viscosity, flow and printability.
Typical applications
- Direct investment casting (DC)
- Wax-like sacrificial casting patterns
- Fine-detail and thick casting geometries
- Applications requiring meltable or thermally degradable patterns
Material properties & performance

- Melting temperature range after curing: >100–200 °C (workflow dependent)
- Shore hardness: D55–65
- Tensile and flexural strength: <4 MPa
- Young’s modulus: <60 MPa
- Elongation: <1–2%
- Heat deflection temperature: ~25–30 °C @ 0.45 MPa
- Very low shrinkage (<1%)
- Residual ash content: 0%
Functional performance characteristics
- Flows like molten wax upon heating after printing
- Gravity-assisted elimination from the mold
- Excellent burnout without imperfections, even with standard gypsums

- Flexible thermoplastic behavior during processing
- Soluble in acetone
Processing and handling performance
- Printing technologies: SLA, DLP and LCD (top-down and bottom-up)
- Requires heated printing conditions
- Recommended printing temperature: 40–50 °C or higher
- Monomer-free formulation as supplied
- Bio-based from renewable resources: >75–80%
- Available in clear, cyan, magenta, yellow, black and white
- Organo-tin free formulation
- Improved printability compared to 3Dresyn® Perfect Cast HS1 Bio
Viscosity vs temperature behavior
- <90,000 mPa·s at 25 °C: poor flow, non-printable
- <30,000 mPa·s at 30 °C: limited flow, top-down only
- <10,000 mPa·s at 35 °C: printable with controlled conditions
- <7,000 mPa·s at 40 °C: good flow, suitable for most systems
- <2,500 mPa·s at 45 °C: optimal flow and reduced stickiness
- <800 mPa·s at 60 °C: excellent flow but reduced structural stability
- <400 mPa·s at 65 °C: very high flow, risk of deformation in fine features
Printing guidelines
- Follow 3Dresyns Instructions for Use (IFU)
- Typical exposure: 10–25 seconds for 50 µm layers depending on printer power
- Higher temperature reduces viscosity but also reduces green strength
- Use dense and robust supports to prevent deformation
- Excessive exposure may reduce melt flow and cause rubber-like degradation instead of melting
Cleaning
- Clean parts using warm Cleaning Fluid UNW2 Bio
Post-curing
- Post-curing is not required
- Optional light post-curing increases melting temperature
- Excessive post-curing may reduce melt flow behavior
Investment casting
- Suitable for gypsum and phosphate investments
- Position upside down for molten elimination by gravity
- Final burnout ensures complete ash-free removal
Processing note
Depending on formulation tuning, exposure energy and post-curing conditions, the material may melt or thermally degrade during burnout. In both cases, complete elimination and defect-free casting can be achieved.
Testing & processing disclaimer
Material performance depends on printer type, temperature control, exposure conditions, cleaning, post-curing, investment material and burnout cycle. Full workflow validation is required.
