Description
3Dresyn EPB1 SD Bio is our universal solvent debindable bio-based powder which has been designed for easy physical mixing with any (your chosen) Ceramic, Metal, Polymer, or exotic powder or fiber for plastic / polymer powder Selective Laser Printing SLS, also known as Cold Metal Fusion CMF or Cold Ceramic Fusion CCF & & Cold Polymer Fusion CPF.
3Dresyn EPB1 SD Bio has these features and benefits:
- universal solvent soluble solvent debindable Eco bio-based Powder Binder for Selective Laser Sintering SLS printing of any (your chosen) Ceramic, Metal, Polymer, and exotic powder or fiber by Cold Metal Fusion (CMF) , Cold Ceramic Fusion (CCF) & Cold Polymer Fusion CPF
- bio-based powder with over 90% Bio content for eco friendly SLS printing, debinding and sintering of ceramics, metals, polymers (such as polyimide), and exotic powders (including nanowires, microfibers, etc)
- easy physical dry powder mixing and wetting with ceramics, metals, polymers and exotic powders with low cost dry powder mixing equipment
- excellent adhesion, uniformity and stability (without gravitational separation) after mixing with micron and submicron ceramics, metals, polymers, such as polyimide, and exotic powders (including nanowires, microfibers, etc)
- ceramic, metal, polymer, and exotic powder (including nanowires, microfibers, etc) additions can be up to 60% volume concentrations (lower for nanoparticles, nano wires and microfibers)
- printable by most plastic / polymer powder SLS printers
- soluble in eco solvents, such as Debinding Solution EDS1 Bio
- melts at 70ºC for "cold" eco solvent and thermal debinding without imperfections nor cracking
- thermally degrades below <300ºC
- promotes controlled and reproducible process shrinkage which depends on final added % powder ratio
- minimum expansion coefficient to prevent micro-fractures
- ultra fine, maximum particle size <50 microns
- very high resolution up to 50 microns of final products (depending on the particle size of the chosen ceramic, metal, polymer, or exotic powder or fiber)
- organo-tin free
Recommended mixing of 3Dresyn EPB1 SD Bio with ceramics, metals, polymers (such as polyimide), and exotic powders (including nanowires, microfibers, etc)
Mix the following powders in a powder mixer (or similar) at room temperature to ensure full wetting and mixing:
- 20 % by weight of 3Dresyn EPB1 SD Bio*
- 10% by weight of your chosen SLS powder* (typically Nylon 12 powder since it is the most used polymer powder in most plastic/polymer SLS printers)
- 70% by weight of your chosen ceramic, metal, polymer, or exotic powder or fiber*,
*Note: : the % can be increased or decreased depending on the specifications of the printing settings and the chosen ceramic, metal, or exotic powder or fiber. After ordering 3Dresyns can supply upon request the Instructions for calculating the optimum % ratio by weight. Once 3Dresyn EPB1 SD Bio and your chosen SLS powder (typically Nylon 12) are fully integrated with your chosen ceramic, metal, polymer (such as polyimide), or any exotic powder or fiber, the powder mix is ready for SLS printing.
Recommended plastic or polymer powder SLS printers:
- SLS printer compatibility: any open mode plastic/ polymer powder SLS printer can be used
Recommended printing, debinding and sintering process:
- use the std printing parameters of your chosen polymer powder (typically Nylon 12) but reduce bed temperature to 60ºC. If over-melting occurs reduce Energy Dosage (laser power and/or scan speed) and/or slightly decrease bed temperature
- use water or air jetting to clean the prints
- cold debinding at 80ºC in Debinding Solution EDS1 Bio for x hours (x depends on print size)
- thermal debinding:
- Insert flask in the preheated oven at 65ºC
- Ramp 1-2ºC/ minute up to 250ºC
- Hold at 250ºC for 60 minutes
- Ramp 1-2ºC/ minute up to 450ºC
- Hold at 450ºC for 30 minutes
- Ramp 2-5ºC/ minute up to sintering temperature
- Hold at sintering temperature for 180 minutes
- Ramp -2ºC/ minute down to 640ºC
