3D-ADD CBA1 Bio Biocompatible Chemical Blowing Agent for foaming 3D prints

3D-ADD CBA1 Bio is a biocompatible chemical blowing agent paste designed to enable controlled post-print expansion in selected photopolymer 3D printing resins.

The additive is supplied as a ready-to-use paste that can be mixed with compatible thermoplastic SLA, DLP and LCD resins before printing. After printing and UV curing, a controlled thermal treatment activates internal gas generation, producing expanded cellular structures.

Designed for use with compatible thermoplastic SLA, DLP and LCD resins to enable controlled post-print expansion through thermal activation after printing and UV curing.

• Production of expanded-cell sponges or foam-like structures through post-print thermal activation

• Density: 0.90–1.20 g/cm³, depending on formulation and, where applicable, selected version (ISO 1675)
• Viscosity: optimized within the processing range required for the intended printing process and application
• Supplied as a ready-to-use whitish paste
• Typical loading range: 5–20 wt%
• Typical starting point: 5–10 wt%
• Thermally activated gas release in the range of approximately 140–180 °C
• Excellent storage stability (1 year guaranteed shelf life; typically several years if stored below 70 °C)

• Universal blowing agent paste compatible with many flexible photopolymer resins
• Enables production of expanded-cell sponges or foam-like structures through post-print thermal activation
• Good suspension stability during printing with most compatible resins
• Minimal influence on the base mechanical properties of compatible resins
• Produces whitening in transparent resins and minor whitening in coloured systems

• Easy dispersion in compatible resins using mild mixing
• Hand mixing or laboratory rotary mixers can be used (e.g. ~500 rpm for ~10 minutes)
• Optional use of 3D-ADD ASC1 anti-sedimentation additive for maximum stability control
• Resin mixtures should be protected from ambient and natural light to prevent unintended curing
