Printing of orthodontic aligners with our 3Dresins with affordable SLA DLP & LCD printers
3Dresyns® aligner materials are designed for direct printing of orthodontic tooth-movement aligners using reliable, affordable SLA, DLP and monochrome LCD printers and standard light boxes. These systems are engineered to help you reach repeatable, durable aligners with less trial-and-error.
Benefits
- Aligned with safe tooth movement: designed for direct printing of tooth-movement aligners without damaging the periodontal ligament (when correctly designed and processed).
- 4D Shape Memory Polymer (SMP) behavior: excellent shape-memory response with temperature, recovering shape upon heating.
- Durable aligners, controlled movement: enable production of aligners with different thickness regions within the same aligner for improved tooth movement control, using reliable SLA/DLP/LCD printers and light boxes.
- Ready-to-use: supplied as ready-to-print versions (no tuning required) for fast printing speed and high resolution on qualified equipment.
Key features
Eco and workflow efficiency
- Environmentally friendly: bio-based 3D bioresins (“bioplastics”).
- Direct printing route: avoids printing non-environmentally friendly models and reduces time-consuming thermoforming and cutting-off of discs.
Temperature-optimized performance
- Printing temperatures: printable at room temperature and at 30–35ºC for improved performance (higher aligner strength).
- Two temperature-oriented versions: available for printers working at relatively low temperature (20–25ºC) and for printers working at relatively high temperature (30–35ºC).
Mechanical control (rigid + flexible)
- Rigid and flexible versions: available to support maximum control of teeth movement.
- Thickness guidance: designed for aligner thickness ranges typically between 0.6–1.0 mm to help prevent damaging the periodontal ligament (application-dependent).
- Low stress relaxation: very high mechanical resistance and very low stress relaxation during usage (process-dependent).
How to choose your version
1) Choose viscosity: HV vs LV
Each version can be supplied at relatively low or high viscosity. Select the viscosity according to your printer and printing temperature:
- HV (High Viscosity): increased mechanical properties and biocompatibility, but higher peeling force. Recommended for printers with heating systems printing at >25ºC (typically 30–35ºC).
- LV (Low Viscosity): reduced peeling force, with relatively lower mechanical properties. Recommended for printers without heating printing at <25ºC (typically 20–25ºC).
If your room temperature is below 25ºC (20–25ºC), choose the Low Viscosity (LV) version.
2) Choose printing speed: F / I / S
- F (Fast): fast printing speed with minor yellowing.
- I (Intermediate): intermediate printing speed.
- S (Slow): improved resolution, non-yellowing, and increased biocompatibility (process-dependent).
Quality outcome (when processed correctly)
Aligners printed and processed properly according to our instructions are safe, tasteless, odorless and colorless.
