Technology transfer of synthesis & formulation for solvent, water based & UV & EB resins, inks, coatings and adhesives

Technology Transfer — Synthesis + Formulation (2D systems)

Structured transfer of chemical know-how for solvent-based, water-based, UV / LED-UV and EB resins, inks, coatings and adhesives — outside the scope of commercial 3D printing resins.

    Choose the right page
    • This page is for projects where polymer synthesis + formulation must be engineered together.
    • If you already have a resin/binder platform and need application tuning, go to Formulation Technology Transfer.
    • If you need polymer architecture and reaction route definition (SB/WB), go to Resin Synthesis Consulting.

    What this service is

This service covers projects where synthesis and formulation are jointly optimized to reach reproducible, manufacturing-ready performance. We focus on real industrial constraints: raw material variability, mixing limitations, process safety, stability, application method, cure/dry capability, and QC reproducibility.

    When it makes sense

    • You have lab results but struggle with reproducibility, stability or scale-up.
    • You need performance targets faster, without long trial-and-error cycles.
    • You face recurring issues: viscosity drift, coagulation, foam, poor adhesion, blocking, rub resistance, cure inhibition, odour.
    • You need a clear transfer package for internal manufacturing implementation.

    Systems covered

    • Solvent-based (SB) and high-solids systems
    • Water-based (WB) resins, dispersions and emulsions
    • UV / LED-UV curing systems
    • Electron beam (EB) curing systems

    Typical scope

    • Polymer architecture design: MW targets, Tg, polarity, functionality, crosslink strategy.
    • Synthesis route definition: feeds, temperature profile, initiator package, conversion targets.
    • Formulation optimization: additives, rheology, wetting/dispersion, cure/dry alignment.
    • Industrial alignment: stability, shelf-life, application method and QC strategy.
    • Scale-up support: lab → pilot → production roadmap and troubleshooting.

    Deliverables (project-defined)

    • Target-driven development plan and recommended chemistry routes.
    • Validated candidate systems and acceptance test plan (as contractually defined).
    • Process window, critical parameters, and in-process controls.
    • QC guidance and implementation documentation for manufacturing.
    Confidentiality & IP

All projects are conducted under NDA. No formula disclosure beyond contract-defined deliverables. 3Dresyns does not disclose third-party proprietary formulas. Deliverables, IP boundaries and usage rights are defined contractually before work begins.

    Engagement structure

    • Technical assessment (scope definition + roadmap)
    • Troubleshooting sprint (remove failure modes, stabilize performance)
    • Development + transfer program (milestone-defined deliverables)

Projects requiring rapid adaptation cycles, proprietary development baselines or structured knowledge handover are executed with an upfront engagement fee and milestone-based scope definition.

Intellectual property boundaries and technical deliverables are defined contractually prior to project initiation. 3Dresyns does not disclose proprietary third-party formulations, and no transfer of protected formulation architecture occurs beyond agreed project scope.
