Recommended hot water treatment before breaking the cocoon. Heating the printed cocoon in hot water is recommended to soften and embrittle it, making manual breakage easier and safer for the cast. As a guideline, approximately 10 minutes of immersion in hot or boiling water at up to 100 °C embrittles the cocoon wall, so that it can be broken and peeled away with minimal force and without damaging the wax or silicone part inside. Immersion time and temperature should be adapted to the geometry, wall thickness and the thermal sensitivity of the cast material.
Testing & processing disclaimer
Material performance depends on printer type, exposure conditions, mold geometry and casting workflow. Breakage behavior and final results must be validated under the intended application conditions.
