3D-ADD GrapEK1-MWCNT Bio, biocompatible electrically conductive multi wall carbon nanotubes 3D additive
Product description
3D-ADD GrapEK1-MWCNT Bio is an effective biocompatible electrically and thermally conductive multi wall nanotubes additive designed for manufacturing conductive 3D printing materials.
This predispersed conductive additive is supplied in powder form and is intended for custom addition into compatible 3D resins to promote electrical conductivity depending on dosage, resin selection, dispersion quality and printing conditions.
Application framework
Designed for conductive material development in vat photopolymerization workflows by addition into compatible 3D resins for SLA, DLP and LCD 3D printing systems.
Typical applications
- Electrically conductive 3D printing materials
- Thermally conductive 3D printing materials
- Custom conductive resin formulation development
- Functional conductive printed parts
Measured physical properties
- Sheet resistance: <0.004-4 kΩ/square
- Resistivity: <0.1-100 Ω.cm
- Conductivity: >1-1000 mS/m
- Reference thickness for typical achievable values: 250 microns
- Viscosity: mPas at 23°C ± 2°C (ISO 3219)
Functional performance characteristics
- Predispersed conductive multi wall nanotubes additive in powder form
- Excellent compatibility with most 3D resins
- Improved biocompatibility and conductivity can be achieved when used with 3Dresyn NSEK Bio
- Dosage can be custom adjusted
- Typical dosages of 1.5-3% by weight are recommended, up to 5%
- Higher dosage reduces cured thickness and printable Z layer thickness
- Z layer thickness of <20-40 microns (<0.02-0.04 mm) can be printed with low power printers
Processing and handling performance
- Easy and optimum dispersion in 3D resins with Cowles or vortex mixers at 1500 rpm for 5 minutes
- Excessive dosage may promote the formation of clusters or clumps, including sea-island or nodular structures, and asymptotic behavior of the percolation network
- More information available in Instructions for Use IFU for conductive resin systems
- Supplied as a kit, which contains 3D-ADD GrapEK1-SMWCNT Bio, one graduated beaker to measure exactly the volume of 3Dresyns used, and one empty 100 mL amber bottle to mix, keep and protect conductive 3D resins from daylight
- Please do not expose 3Dresyns to direct natural or artificial room light to prevent curing
- Guaranteed shelf life: 12 months
Chemical and safety characteristics
- Biocompatible
- Electrically conductive
- Thermally conductive
- Multi wall nanotubes additive
Testing & processing disclaimer
Conductivity of 3D printed parts depends on several variables, such as the percentage of 3D-ADD GrapEK1-MWCNT Bio, the contribution to promote conductivity of the chosen 3D resin, the degree of dispersion of the conductive additive and the printing conditions. When 3D-ADD GrapEK1-MWCNT Bio is added as a functional additive to any 3D resin, conductivity of the resulting product cannot be guaranteed since conductivity depends on both the additive and the chosen 3D resin. Low power 3D printers may exhibit printability limitations at high dosage of 3D-ADD GrapEK1-MWCNT Bio and high Z layers. In such cases reduce Z layer thickness and exposure times accordingly following the Instructions for Use IFU.
