Cure Tester and Purification Kit is a post-processing system designed to support qualitative assessment of surface conversion and chemical cleansing of 3D printed photopolymer parts
Product description
This kit is a laboratory processing aid intended for qualitative visual assessment of surface conversion after printing and light post-curing, and to support reduction of residual surface species through chemical treatment.
It does not certify, guarantee or replace biological testing, cytotoxicity evaluation, regulatory validation or device-level qualification.
Application framework
Designed for professional use in controlled post-processing workflows in dental, hearing and biomedical laboratory environments.
Typical applications
- Qualitative visual assessment of surface conversion after printing and light post-curing
- Support reduction of residual surface species through chemical treatment
- Assist controlled post-processing workflows in dental, hearing and biomedical laboratory environments
Measured physical properties
- Cure Tester application time: approximately 5 minutes
- Cure Tester immersion time: 5–10 minutes at room temperature
- Purification treatment time: 5–10 minutes
- Total chemical treatment time: approximately 10–20 minutes following light post-curing
- Kit contents: 2 graduated immersion beakers
- Kit contents: 1 × bottle containing 10 g Cure Tester (dark powder)
- Kit contents: 1 × bottle containing 50 g Purification powder
- Add 1 L of water to each bottle prior to use and mix thoroughly until fully dissolved
Functional performance characteristics
- Observable color change may indicate the presence of surface-accessible unreacted species
- Minimal or no color difference may indicate higher surface conversion under the tested conditions
- This is a qualitative indicator only and does not measure total bulk conversion, internal polymerization, extractables, leachables, or biological performance
- This protocol supports reduction of surface-accessible residual species
- May reduce platinum-catalyst inhibition on RTV silicone molds when used as part of a validated workflow
Processing and handling performance
- Always follow the Instructions for Use (IFU) before applying this protocol
- Step 1 – Initial Cleaning: clean printed parts according to the applicable IFU and ensure adequate light post-curing before proceeding
- Step 2 – Cure Tester Immersion (Optional Extended Treatment): parts may be immersed in prepared Cure Tester solution for 5–10 minutes at room temperature
- Avoid contact with glycerine/glycerol to prevent exothermic reactions
- Step 3 – Purification Treatment: immerse parts in the prepared Purification solution for 5–10 minutes to assist removal of surface reaction byproducts
- Step 4 – Final Rinse: rinse parts thoroughly at least twice in clean water to remove remaining treatment solution
- Compatible with clear and certain chemically resistant colored resins
- Some pigments may fade
- Compatibility must be verified by the user
Chemical and safety characteristics
- Read the MSDS before use (contains corrosive components)
- Wear protective gloves and goggles
- Avoid skin and eye contact
- Dispose of solutions according to local chemical regulations
Testing & processing disclaimer
This protocol supports reduction of surface-accessible residual species but does not guarantee biological performance. The kit does not replace extractables & leachables studies, ISO 10993 evaluation, or regulatory conformity assessment. Bulk conversion inside thick or insufficiently cured prints may not be detectable using surface tests. Performance depends on resin formulation, geometry, printer settings and complete workflow validation. Surface appearance and qualitative conversion indicators do not replace full material validation.
Disclaimer
This kit is a laboratory processing aid. It does not certify, guarantee or replace biological testing, cytotoxicity evaluation, regulatory validation or device-level qualification. Final medical device compliance and safety assessment remain the responsibility of the legal manufacturer. Final device safety and regulatory compliance depend on the complete material–printer–post-processing–application system and must be validated by the legal manufacturer.
