3Dresyn LMM RSB1 SD, Solvent Debindable Reactive Solid Binder for solvent debinding and sintering of Metals and Ceramics printed by Lithography-based Metal Manufacturing LMM
Product description
Application framework
Designed for use in lithography-based additive manufacturing systems within controlled professional environments. Suitable for the preparation of highly filled feedstocks and slurries for ceramic, metal, polymer and exotic material processing with solvent-based debinding workflows.
Typical applications
- LMM feedstock preparation for metals and ceramics
- Solvent-debindable binder systems for advanced manufacturing
- High powder loading slurries for technical materials
- Processing of exotic powders including nanowires and microfibers
- Eco-friendly debinding and sintering workflows
Mechanical properties
- Solid paste behavior at room temperature (<30 °C)
- Pseudoplastic rheology (non-flowing at rest, flowing upon shear) (rheology internal method)
- Process-dependent viscosity upon melting (Brookfield)
Thermal properties
- Melting temperature (Tm): 33–36 °C (ISO 11357-3)
Functional performance characteristics
- Universal solvent-debindable reactive solid binder system
- Ideal for dispersing, debinding and sintering ceramics, metals, polymers and exotic powders without defects
- Excellent dispersability and flow of micron and submicron powders (including nanowires, microfibers, etc.)
- Powder additions up to 60% volume concentrations (lower for nanoparticles, nanowires and microfibers)
- Increased wetting and flow compared to 3Dresyn LMM RSB1 WD at high powder loadings
- Partial solvent solubility (acetone, alcohols, aromatics) enabling fast debinding without defects or cracking
- Compatible with Debinding Solution EDS1 Bio for eco solvent debinding
- Complementary thermally debindable fraction ensuring structural integrity
- Controlled and reproducible process shrinkage depending on powder loading
- Minimum expansion coefficient to prevent micro-fractures
- Solid at room temperature, excellent flow upon heating
- Very high resolution of 20 microns in final products
- Suitable for ceramic, metal, polymer and exotic material LMM printing
- Eco-friendly processing route
- Organo-tin free formulation
Recommended feedstock or slurry mixing
- Add the binder and your chosen ceramic, metal, or polymer powder with powder volume concentrations of up to 50–60% to a powder kneader mixer (or similar) at 50ºC for 30 minutes
Processing and handling performance
- Photoreactive solid binder with pseudoplastic behavior
- Low melting temperature range enabling easy processing
- Excellent flow after melting and before printing
- Compatible with high powder loading mixing processes
Recommended debinding and sintering process of green parts
- First step: solvent debinding with Debinding Solution EDS1 Bio at 65ºC for 5 hours
- Second step: thermal debinding:
- Insert flask in the preheated oven at 65ºC
- Ramp 1–2ºC/min up to 250ºC
- Hold at 250ºC for 60 minutes
- Ramp 1–2ºC/min up to 450ºC
- Hold at 450ºC for 30 minutes
- Ramp 2–5ºC/min up to sintering temperature
- Hold at sintering temperature for 180 minutes
- Ramp −2ºC/min down
