Description
3D-ADD ReBond Weld is a ready-to-use, dynamic covalent performance additive for UV-curable 3D printing resins (SLA/DLP/LCD). Enables stress-relief during cure, interlayer welding, and post-print self-repair under mild thermal or light-assisted protocols.
Key Benefits
- cure stress management to reduce warpage and micro-cracking
- interlayer welding for enhanced Z-cohesion and laminate integrity
- post-print repair of micro-fissures and surface defects
- toughness upgrade in high-Tg, highly crosslinked matrices
- optical clarity preserved at recommended use levels (385–405 nm)
- low odor and low volatility for clean handling
- plug-and-play: supplied in a reactive medium for fast incorporation
Recommended Applications
- engineering and functional parts needing dimensional stability and fatigue resistance
- interlayer re-bonding (“welding”) of printed laminates and assemblies
- local repair of chips, edges, and craze lines after post-processing
- R&D on reprocessable and repairable UV resins using dynamic covalent chemistry
- clear optics and tinted components with stringent stress/defect control
Typical Properties (23–25°C)
- physical state: clear to pale-yellow liquid
- odor: very low, neutral
- viscosity: low to medium (easy mixing and vat handling)
- density: approx. 0.98–1.12 g·cm⁻³ (grade dependent)
- appearance (color): typically <60 APHA in clear grades
- photocuring window: compatible with 385–405 nm
How to Use
Incorporation
- add directly to the host resin under moderate stirring
- if needed, temper gently (~40–50°C) to speed homogenization
- do not use non-reactive solvents
- expect a minor exposure increase
- post-cure using the host resin’s standard protocol
Interlayer Welding & Post-Print Repair
- thermal protocol: align contact faces; apply moderate heat with light pressure until re-bonding is achieved
- light-assisted protocol: irradiate the joint region using your standard emission (or a repair lamp) following internal SOPs
- time/temperature/light dose depend on matrix Tg, post-cure level, and geometry—validate on internal coupons
Compatibility
- designed for most 3D resin families
- works with common 385–405 nm systems used in SLA/DLP & LCD
- suitable for clear and pigmented formulations; validate in highly filled/opaque systems
Handling & Safety
- use standard PPE: gloves, goggles, lab coat; ensure adequate ventilation
- avoid prolonged exposure to intense light during mixing and handling
- consult the MSDS of this additive and of the host resin before use
Storage & Shelf Life
- store tightly closed at 15–25;°C, dry, protected from light
- nitrogen blanket recommended for repeated openings
- shelf life: 12 months from date of manufacture in unopened original packaging
Regulatory & Intended Use
- for industrial and R&D applications
- not evaluated for implantable, pharmaceutical, or food-contact uses unless explicitly stated in writing
FAQs
- does it affect print clarity? At recommended use levels the tint impact is minimal; validate for color-critical optics
- will I need to change exposure? Usually a modest increase vs. baseline; re-optimize initial and per-layer exposure
- how do I “weld” layers? Use a short thermal cycle with light pressure, or a localized light-assisted repair protocol as per your SOP
Options:
- Lipophilic LP version with HLB: < 7.5 (Ultra Low Water Absorption ULWA grades)
- Medium Hydrophilicity MHP version with HLB: 7.5-12
It is supplied as a kit, which contains the product, one graduated beaker and one empty 250 mL black bottle to measure, mix, keep and protect the 3D resins from daylight. Please do not expose any 3D resins to natural or room light to prevent their curing.
IMPORTANT: The product has a guaranteed shelf life of 12 months, but in practice it has a longer shelf life. Its delivery time is around 3-4 weeks after ordering.
