Description
Product Description
Self-healing booster engineered for soft and flexible photopolymers (SLA/DLP/LCD, 385–405 nm). It enables warm-press closure of cuts and scratches, improves layer cohesion, and preserves a compliant elastomeric feel. Three tuned versions: Optic (high clarity, low odor), Thermal-Weld (firmer hot-weld response), and BioGen (biogenic positioning with low-temperature activation).
Versions
Optic — Clarity-first, low-odor warm-press repair at gentle temperature; minimal print re-tuning.
Thermal-Weld — Stronger weld-back under mild heat; best for flexible parts that need firm joint integrity.
BioGen — Biogenic self-repair pathway supporting renewable-content narratives with low-temp activation.
Key Features & Benefits
Low-temperature self-healing with gentle pressure.
Higher tear and fatigue resistance; stronger interlayer fusion.
Maintains soft touch and flexibility; no crystallization in soft grades.
Low volatility and low odor; optical-friendly at recommended levels.
Typical Applications
Soft/living hinges, compliant grippers, cushioning pads, flexible covers and bellows, wearable-like prototypes* requiring improved nick resistance and service life.
*Not cleared for direct or long-term skin contact, implant, or medical use.
Recommended Use Level
10–20 wt% in flexible/elastomeric resins. Around 10% boosts nick resistance and gradual self-seal; 15–20% maximizes warm-press healing with softer Shore.
Processing & Activation
Blend under low light to full homogeneity prior to printing.
Print on 385–405 nm systems; re-optimize initial and per-layer exposure slightly vs. baseline.
Activation guide (validate on internal coupons): Optic ~40–60 °C, gentle pressure; Thermal-Weld ~45–70 °C, light pressure for firmer welds; BioGen ~40–60 °C, gentle pressure. Optional brief local 405 nm flash can help lock the interface. Follow the host resin’s standard post-cure.
Typical Properties (as supplied)
Appearance: amber, clear to slightly hazy.
Odor: very low.
Viscosity (25 °C): ~300–600 mPa·s (easy mixing/vat handling).
Density (25 °C): ~1.15–1.25 g·cm⁻³.
VOC: 0%.
Compatibility
Designed for flexible and elastomeric photopolymers operating at 385–405 nm; suitable for clear and pigmented systems. For highly filled or opaque matrices, validate exposure and activation windows on internal coupons.
Safety & Handling
Industrial/R&D use only. Use standard PPE (gloves, goggles, lab coat) and adequate ventilation. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense light during mixing/handling. Consult the SDS for this product and for the host resin.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store tightly closed, 5–25 °C, dry, protected from light. Shelf life: 12 months unopened.
What’s Included (kit)
Additive, one graduated beaker, and one empty 250 mL black bottle to measure, mix, and protect the resin from daylight. Keep resins away from natural or room light to prevent unintended curing.
