Compatibility with SLA, DLP, LCD, Inkjet, and other printing technologies

Certain uni-functional and multifunctional products for SLA, DLP, LCD, Inkjet, and other printing technologies may require printer-specific tuning or calibration to achieve optimal printability under particular printing conditions. For example, some so-called “black-box” printers, whether operating in open or closed mode, such as Formlabs Form 2 and Form 3*, SprintRay, DWS, as well as certain Inkjet printers, may require additional tuning using 3Dresyns Fine Tuners in order to meet specific printing specifications.

INI files for Asiga printers are not provided by the Company. Alternatively, fast Instructions for Use (IFU) for Asiga printers are available online. Customers are strongly encouraged to follow the applicable IFU, understand the basic principles of resin printing, and carefully read the printer manufacturer’s manual.

Fine-tuning additives such as Fine Tuner FT1 and Fine Tuner LB1 Bio may be recommended or required to ensure printability or to enable fine adjustment of printing speed and resolution, particularly when using closed-mode “black-box” printers.

The Company does not provide any warranty of compatibility or printability of its products, either as supplied or after custom tuning with fine-tuning or functional additives. The use of such additives, printing parameters, and equipment configurations is beyond the Company’s control; therefore, no compatibility or printability guarantee can be provided.

    Instructions for Use (IFU)

3Dresyns provides online, fast, and easy-to-follow Instructions for Use (IFU) to assist customers in selecting appropriate printing parameters for their specific printers and applications.

*Note: When using closed-mode “black-box” printers such as Formlabs Form 2 and Form 3, it is recommended to keep configurations simple and not to add optional functional additives. Customers should be aware that water- and solvent-soluble sacrificial 3Dresyns may swell rather than dissolve when printed with high-power laser systems; therefore, their use is not recommended with laser-based printers. LCD printers are generally more suitable for printing both solvent- and water-soluble sacrificial resins.

Additionally, certain 3D resins may interact with the hard acrylic material of Formlabs resin tanks, potentially leading to infiltration between the PDMS layer and the tank body and eventual delamination. This limitation of Formlabs resin tanks may restrict the use of specific resins that do not present such issues when used with alternative printer designs or more durable resin tanks from other manufacturers.

The recommended approach is to contact the Company prior to ordering 3D resins for Formlabs printers in order to confirm their suitability for Formlabs resin tanks as supplied. 3Dresyns will assist in selecting the most appropriate materials.
