Our selection of sacrificial 3Dresyns and special additives for 3D printing sacrificial models and molds for injection of traditional materials such as waxes, silicones*, plastics, ceramics and metals feedstocks.
Our sacrificial SLA DLP and LCD 3D resins can be sacrified or eliminated by:
- dissolution in water or alcohols with our heat resistant water soluble resins 3Dresyns IM WS product range for printing high deflection temperature water soluble sacrificial materials (individual products are shown in the icons below) and 3Dresyn Perfect Cast WS1 , which are ideal for injection of plastics, ceramics, metals and for jewelry and electroforming /electroplating
- level of printing difficulty: medium
- dissolution in solvents with our hard 3Dresyn IM-H-SS Bio and our flexible 3Dresyn IM-F-SS Bio which can be mixed for custom rigidity adjustment of solvent soluble 3D printed resins for printing solvent soluble sacrificial materials
- level of printing difficulty: medium-high
- by heat/melting with our heat soluble or meltable 3Dresyn Perfect Cast HS2 Bio designed for jewelry and electroforming /electroplating
- level of printing difficulty: medium. Recommended for professional printer users
- breaking them easily by hand with our easy breakable cocoon 3D resins which are ideal for injection of soft materials such as silicones
- level of printing difficulty: low-medium
Sacrificial technology is ideal for manufacturing materials with complex shapes (where casts are intertwined with the mold) for engineering, industrial and dental applications since traditional dental materials can be easily cast or injected by gravity or under pressure in heat resistant water soluble sacrificial molds printed with our sacrificial 3D resins, with even low cost SLA, DLP & LCD 3D printers.
Our water soluble sacrificial resins are ideal for printing Injection Molds IM for injecting/casting of:
- silicones*
- waxes such as our 3Dresyns Waxes
- low, medium and high injection (processing and/or curing) temperatures up to 200ºC or higher, for injection of traditional materials such as:
- plastics such as our new Resin Injection & Casting 3Dresyns, which are light and/or heat curable biocompatible resins or
- polyurethanes for making aligners with the benefit of reducing production costs (laser cutting is not required)
- nylon (polyamide 12) for making partial flexible dentures
- PMMA for making rigid denture bases
- ceramic and metal feedstocks (Ceramic and Metal Injection Molding CIM and MIM) such as our Ceramic & Metal 3Dresyns slurries
The usage of sacrificial 3D resins is ideal for engineering and industrial applications, such as injection of Ceramics and Metal slurries used in CIM and MIM applications. Other applications such as Electroforming can be used for replacing the expensive multi step prior electrodeposition. Mandrels can be printed with our water soluble sacrificial 3D resins and dip coated with our conductive resins. After electrodeposition of metals such as gold, mandrels can be easily dissolved in water.

Read this article published in the international journal "nature", world-renowned for publishing the finest peer-reviewed research in all fields of science and technology. In this paper our water soluble sacrifical resins were investigated and used for printing sacrificial materials:
*Note: Injected molded RTV silicones use platinum catalysts, which are inhibited by some chemicals contained in 3D printed molds, leaving the surface of the silicone sticky or uncured. Full curing is required to avoid the risk of monomer extraction and silicone curing inhibition. The use of our Cleaning Fluid, Cure Tester and Purification kit also help to overcome this common problem, by eliminating the inhibiting chemicals from the surface of 3D printed molds.
