3D-ADD EKC1 is our universal electro conductive silver additive for making ESD and clear and colored conductive 3D resins, such as:

  • 3D printed clear or translucent materials for electronics e.g. transparent electrodes for touch screens, PV, OLED devices and displays. Low cost alternative to TCO.  Other applications: sensors, heaters, lighting, security, photovoltaic cells
  • 3D printed clear and colored ESD materials against premature failure or damage due to electrostatic discharge in a variety of 3D printed applications such as automotive, aerospace, electronic, electrical packaging, equipment and other plastics applications.

The usage of 3D-ADD EKC1 at different dosages is ideal for printing:

  • Anti-Static materials with resistivity generally between 109 and 1012 Ohm/square. Initial electrostatic charges are suppressed. Recommended dosage: 0.5% (1 test tube containing 1 gram of active conductive additive in 200 grams of 3D resin)
  • Static Dissipative materials with resistivity generally between 106 and 109 Ohm/square. Low or no initial charges - prevents discharge to from human contact. Recommended dosage: 1 % (1 test tube containing 1 gram of active conductive additive in 100 grams of 3D resin)
  • Low Conductivity materials with resistivity generally between 103 and 106 Ohm/square. No initial charges, provides path for charge to bleed off. Recommended dosage: 2% (1 test tube containing 1 gram of active conductive additive in 50 grams of 3D resin)
  • High Conductivity materials with resistivity generally between <101 and 103 Ohm/square. High electrical conductivity . Recommended dosage: 4% (1 test tube containing 1 gram of active conductive additive in 25  grams of 3D resin)

3D-ADD EKC1 is a ultra effective conductive additive which once added and mixed in your chosen 3D resins has nearly no effect on the clarity nor in the colored of your chosen 3Dresyn, consequently it is ideal for making clear, translucent and/or colored conductive and ESD printed materials since has nearly no effect on clarity nor in the original color strength of your chosen 3Dresyn, specially when used at low dosage and thin applications.

3D-ADD EKC1 has these features and benefits:

  • mix 3D-ADD EKC1 in the 3D resin gently with a rotational mixer at less than 500 rpm or in an ultrasonic bath without heating for <5-10 minutes until full mixing of the silver (avoid excessive energy to prevent any gelation)

Instructions for Use IFU:

3D-ADD EKC1 is supplied in 50 mL test tubes, each one containing 1 gram of the active conductive additive in a small quantity of an inert deagglomerating excipient. It is recommended to fill up the test tube with 25 grams of your chosen 3D resin for making a 4% concentration: High Conductivity materials with resistivity generally between <101 and 103 Ohm/square. Fully mix 3D-ADD EKC1 in the 3D resin in an ultrasonic bath without heating for 15 minutes until full desagglomeration. After, empty the test tube and pour it to the empty 250 mL black bottle. If you want to dilute further the content of 3D-ADD EKC1, then add:

  • 25 grams of the original 3D resin to make a 2% concentration for making Low Conductivity materials with resistivity generally between 103 and 106 Ohm/square
  • 75 grams of the original 3D resin to make a 1% concentration for making Static Dissipative materials with resistivity generally between 106 and 109 Ohm/square
  • 175 grams of the original 3D resin to make a 0.5% concentration for making Anti-Static materials with resistivity generally between 109 and 1012 Ohm/square

Remember to ultrasonic the blends for 10 minutes more for full mixing and desagglomeration.

Note: 3D-ADD EKC1  is supplied as a kit, which contains 5, 10, 15 and 20 test tubes of 3D-ADD EKC1, containing each one 1 gram of active conductive additive in a small quantity of an inert deagglomerating excipient,  1 graduated beaker and one empty 250 mL black bottle to measure, mix, keep and protect the 3D resins from daylight. Please do not expose any 3D resins to natural or room light to prevent their curing.
