Cure-Tester & Purification kit for measuring the cure, post-curing and cleansing of 3D prints
Our new Cure-Tester and Purification kit is a fast, simple and reliable system for measuring the cure, postcuring and cleansing 3D printed SLA DLP & LCD resins. It is ideal for biomedical applications, including dental, to ensure that biomedical devices are safe for use.
The cure test is based on applying a drop of the liquid Cure-Tester on the surface of a 3D printed material (exposed surface). After 5 minutes the liquid is removed and cleaned, then a visual evaluation is done to the exposed surface. If there is no color difference between the exposed and the non exposed surface, the cure of the print is 100% (full conversion from liquid to solid resin) , reflecting that there is not any residual free residual unreacted resin and the material is safe for use.
When there is a high color difference between the exposed surface (brownish color) and the non exposed surface (original reference color of the 3D printed material), is an indicator of the existence of a relatively high concentration of unreacted resin, reflecting that the material is not fully safe nor ready to be used for any sort of biomedical application.
This basic and easy to use test is ideal for monitoring if there is any residual uncured/unreacted resin in the 3D printed material and it is particularly useful for testing fast and cost efectively the safety of any 3D printed biomedical device.
A fully reacted 3D printed material can be easily analysed visually when there is not any increase of coloration of the exposed vs the unexposed printed surface. This qualitative test can be calibrated to make it cuantitative using reference values.
Post-curing & Purification
Our Cure-tester kit can also be used as Post-curing agent because reacts with any unreacted resin. This is easily done by immersing or dipping completely the 3D printed material inside a flask containing the Cure-tester for 5-10 minutes at room temperature. Any residual brown colored will either disappear when wiped away if the level of residual unreacted resin is low, or if does not disappear, because of excessive unreacted resin, then, the prints can be dipped for 5 minutes in our Purification Fluid to remove any residual brown color coming from residuals and by products. Afterwards, the prints have to be rinsed, as least twice, in water to eliminate any rest of the Purification Fluid.
After the post-curing and purification process the 3D prints will be fully cured, safe and ready for use in a total time of 10-15 minutes.
Our Cure-Tester and Purification kit is supplied as a kit, which contains 1 dispenser (dropper), 2 empty flasks to inmerse the prints in the liquids , 1 bottle of 1 Litre containing the Cure-Tester (supplied as powder for shipping safety) and 1 bottle of 1 Litre containing the Purification Fluid (supplied as powder for shipping safety).
Read the MSDS (the kit contains corrosive chemicals), use gloves and goggles to avoid any contact with skin and eyes.
*Note: this kit is ideal for clear and for colored resins formulated with chemical resistant colorants/pigments, otherwise colors may fade.
