Product Description
Self-healing booster engineered for hydrophobic, oil/fuel-resistant elastomeric photopolymers (SLA/DLP/LCD, 385–405 nm). It enables heat-assisted re-closure of nicks and scratches, strengthens interlayer fusion, and preserves damping behavior and chemical resistance. Three tuned versions: Optic (high clarity, low odor), Thermal-Weld (firmer hot-weld response), and BioGen (biogenic positioning with hydrophobic clarity at use levels).
Versions
Optic — Clarity-first, low-odor self-repair with minimal print re-tuning; optimized for clear elastomer builds.
Thermal-Weld — Stronger heat-assisted welds for maintenance-grade parts exposed to shock and cyclic loads.
BioGen — Hydrophobic biogenic self-repair pathway that supports renewable-content narratives.
Key Features & Benefits
Moderate-heat re-closure of nicks/cuts (typ. 60–90 °C)
High resistance to oils, fuels, greases, hydraulic fluids
Improved interlayer fusion and fatigue tolerance
Low bleed-out; sustained damping and energy absorption
Optical-friendly behavior (Optic/BioGen); firmest weld response (Thermal-Weld)
Typical Applications
Custom gaskets and sealing lips, vibration/impact dampers, protective boots and bellows, on-demand maintenance parts for automotive and industrial environments.
Recommended Use Level
10–25 wt% in elastomeric resins. Around 10% enhances nick resistance and cohesion; 20–25% maximizes self-healing and damping with softer Shore hardness.
Processing & Activation
Blend under low light to full homogeneity before printing.
Print on 385–405 nm systems; re-optimize initial and per-layer exposure slightly vs. baseline (opacity and viscosity can require minor increases).
Activation guide (validate on internal coupons): Optic ~60–90 °C with light pressure; Thermal-Weld ~60–90 °C emphasizing firmer welds under light pressure; BioGen ~60–90 °C with light pressure. Cool in contact to lock the interface. Follow the host resin’s post-cure.
Typical Properties (as supplied)
Appearance: light yellow to amber, viscous liquid
Odor: low
Viscosity (25 °C): ~800–1500 mPa·s (vat-friendly for elastomers)
Density (25 °C): ~0.95–1.05 g·cm⁻³
VOC: negligible
Compatibility
Designed for hydrophobic elastomeric photopolymers operating at 385–405 nm; suitable for clear and pigmented systems. For highly filled or opaque matrices, validate exposure and activation windows on internal coupons.
Safety & Handling
Industrial/R&D use only. Use standard PPE (gloves, goggles, lab coat) and adequate ventilation. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense light during mixing/handling. Consult SDS for this additive and for the host resin.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store tightly closed, 5–25 °C, dry, protected from light. Shelf life: 12 months unopened.
What’s Included (kit)
Additive, one graduated beaker, and one empty 250 mL black bottle to measure, mix, and protect resin from daylight. Keep resins away from natural or room light to prevent unintended curing.
